Legendary Pictures is planning to develop a biopic of Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi and have, according to Deadline, set Margin Call and All is Lost helmer J.C. Chandor to write with tentative plans to have him direct as well.
Lombardi first became an NFL head coach in 1959 and famously took the Packers from their place at the bottom of the league through to being five-time NFL champions.
Another Lombardi biopic, tentatively titled Lombardi, was announced in 2010. That film, which features a script by Eric Roth, is still in development with Robert De Niro attached to play the coach.
Mary Parent and Thomas Tull are attached to produce with Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo on board as executive producers.
