The Hollywood Reporter has brought word that the upcoming Paramount Pictures and WWE animated film Rumble has signed Will Arnett (The Lego Movie), Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers) and Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) to star.

The film is set in a world in which monsters are superstar athletes as monster wrestling has become a global sport and will follow Winnie, a girl looking to continue her father’s legacy by coaching a lovable underdog monster into a wrestling champion. In addition to Arnett, Viswanathan and Crews, the film will also star Tony Danza (Don Jon), Stephen A. Smith (Almost Christmas), Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal) and Ben Schwartz (DuckTales), with boxing announcer Michael Buffer and WWE superstars Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns all set to portray characters in the film.
“Rumble is steeped in the world of wrestling, and what better partners to help bring this world to life than WWE. They bring a pedigree and institutional excellence that is unmatched, and we couldn’t be happier to collaborate with them on this special film,” Mireille Soria, president of Paramount Animation, said in a statement.

The film will be a co-production between Paramount Animation and WWE Studios and will be produced by Reel FX, Walden Media, Mark Bakshi and Brad Booker and is currently slated for a summer 2020 release. Rumble joins The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge and The Tiger’s Apprentice on Paramount Animation’s upcoming slate.
