Kathryn Hahn Cast in Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland

Though director Brad Bird says production on his new movie Tomorrowland has been threatened by the US government shutdown (presumably because of the NASA site closings), there’s been a new addition to the cast anyway. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kathryn Hahn of Anchorman and Step Brothers fame, has been cast in the film as “Ursula” who is described as a “funny, scene-stealing role.”

Currently filming in Vancouver, Tomorrowland stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy and Thomas Robinson. Bird co-wrote the screenplay with Damon Lindelof.

Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as “Tomorrowland.”

Tomorrowland will be released by Walt Disney Pictures on December 12, 2014.
