According to Fandango, director Andy Muschietti has officially confirmed that The Flash will be his next film. This jibes with comments from the film’s star Ezra Miller who recently stated the speedster flick is “absolutely confirmed.”

Muschietti was making the rounds promoting IT: Chapter 2 when Fandango correspondent Nikki Novak asked if The Flash would be his next project, to which the director replied, “Yep.”
He also revealed that the film would not follow in IT’s footsteps in terms of featuring horror elements. “An element of horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it,” he said.“The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”

The report was unclear as to whether Birds of Prey and Bumblebee screenwriter Christina Hodson was still attached as screenwriter, but we can all rest assured that the Scarlet Speedster will finally make his big screen debut sooner rather than later.
Muschietti’s IT: Chapter 2 opens September 6.
