Netflix has announced its ensemble cast for the sci-fi flick Awake, which takes place in a world suddenly without electronics — or sleep.
The seriously impressive cast will be headed by Gina Rodriguez (Annihilation), and also includes Ariana Greenblatt (Monster Problems), Frances Fisher (Watchmen), Shamier Anderson (Destroyer), Finn Jones (Game of Thrones), Lucius Hoyos (Heroes Reborn), Gil Bellows (Patriot), with Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan), and Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight).
The film picks up after a sudden global event wipes out all electronics and takes away humankind’s ability to sleep, chaos quickly begins to consume the world. Only Jill (Rodriguez), an ex-soldier with a troubled past, may hold the key to a cure in the form of her own daughter. The question is, can Jill safely deliver her daughter and save the world before she herself loses her mind?
