Per the report, the actress, who is on something of a red-hot streak at the moment, will play ass-kicking detective Constance Verity, who is destined to save the world. In Martinez’s novel, Constance has grown tired of her lot in life — that of Earth’s savior, a role she has played since the age of seven — and longs for a normal life.
Legendary purchased the spec script written by John Raffo (Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story). Jon Silk will oversee the project with Jay Ashenfelter for Legendary.
