San Andreas’ Alexandra Daddario Looking for a Happy Life

Deadline has brought word that the upcoming drama Happy Life starring Evangeline Lily (Avengers: Endgame) and Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors) has expanded its cast with the addition of San Andreas and Percy Jackson star Alexandra Daddario.

Lilly appears in Avengers: Endgame, currently playing in theaters, and recently starred in Ant-Man and the Wasp, Little Evil, Ant-Man, and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. She will next star opposite Gary Oldman and Armie hammer in the drama thriller, Dreamland. Barinholtz, best known for his role as Morgan on The Mindy Project, recently starred in Late Night, The Oath, Blockers, Bright, and The Disaster Artist. He will next be seen in Nick Cuse’s horror The Hunt.

Happy Life follows new mom Allison Beck (Lilly) who suspects her workaholic husband, Eli (Barinholtz) of having an affair with an Instagram star (Daddario). One mistake after another leads her into the arms of a younger man as she struggles to come to terms with her life decisions and the mother she aspires to be.

David Stassen (The Mindy Project) wrote the screenplay and will also direct it as his feature debut. Stassen will also serve as producer alongside Barinholtz. The duo formerly collaborated on Central Intelligence, The Path, and Blockers.

Daddario, who got her rise to stardom with a key role in the Percy Jackson films, has also starred in 2013’s commercially successful Texas Chainsaw 3D, the hit 2015 disaster film San Andreas, the 2017 film adaptation of the classic action series Baywatch and the acclaimed first season of the HBO crime drama True Detective. She will next be seen in the crime thriller Night Hunter alongside Henry Cavill (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), which hits theaters on September 6, and the CBS All Access dark comedy Why Women Kill, which premieres on August 15.

Andrew Robinson and Aperture Media Productions will also produce.  Principal photography on the film will begin in September.
