The film, being written and directed by the mind behind A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, is a fantasy-adventure that follows a girl with unusual and dangerous powers who breaks out of a mental asylum and tries to get a hold of her abilities and make it on her own in New Orleans.

In addition to Jong-Seo, Robinson, Hudson and Skrein, the film will star Evan Whitten, who is best known for his roles portraying a younger Elliot (Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody) on the acclaimed USA Network thriller Mr. Robot and appearing on Fox’s hit medical drama The Resident. Zac Efron (Baywatch) was previously attached to star in the film, with Skrein replacing his place in the cast.

“It is an honor to be working with Lily, a truly unique and visionary filmmaker, and I want to especially thank Roeg Sutherland and Luke Rodgers for going the extra mile to get this movie made,” Lesher said in a statement.
Amirpour is also currently attached to direct a female-led reboot of the Sylvester Stallone 1993 action hit Cliffhanger.
