According to The Hollywood Reporter, veteran actor-writer John Cleese (Monty Python, Harry Potter) and Resident Evil alum Sienna Guillory have been tapped to join the cast of Paramount Pictures’ forthcoming feature adaptation of the classic animated series Clifford the Big Red Dog. Newcomer Izaac Wang (Good Boys) has also been cast.
They join previously announced cast members Darby Camp (Big Little Lies) and Jack Whitehall (Bad Education, Jungle Cruise) who are portraying the roles of Emily Elizabeth and Uncle Casey, respectively.

Clifford, the Big Red Dog, based on the books by Norman Bridwell, will see Emily (Camp) struggling to fit in at home and at school, discover a small red puppy who is destined to become her best friend. When Clifford magically undergoes one heck of a growth spurt, becomes a gigantic dog and attracts the attention of a genetics company, Emily and her Uncle Casey (Whitehall) have to fight the forces of greed as they go on the run across New York City. Along the way, Clifford affects the lives of everyone around him and teaches Emily and her uncle the true meaning of acceptance and unconditional love.

The movie was written by Jay Scherick, David Ronn, Annie Mumolo, and Stan Chervin. Walt Becker is directing the project. The feature is scheduled to begin shooting this June in New York. Jordan Kerner and Scholastic Entertainment’s Deborah Forte will produce.
Clifford, the Big Red Dog is scheduled to hit theaters on November 13, 2020.
