Miles Teller, who can currently be seen starring alongside Shailene Woodley in James Ponsoldt’s The Spectacular Now, has taken a leading role in Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash opposite J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man).
The film, a feature-length expansion of Chazelle’s Sundance short of the same name, stars Simmons as a short-tempered music teacher who forms an unlikely bond with Teller’s apprentice drummer.
Coming up, Teller can be seen in Dylan Kidd’s Get a Job, Max Nichols’ Two Night Stand and Tom Gormican’s Are We Officially Dating?.
Whiplash will begin production in September with Jason Blum, Helen Estabrook, Jason Reitman and Couper Samuelson producing.
