According to Deadline, Fox/Disney has picked up the rights to author Chris Van Allsburg’s children’s book The Garden of Abdul Gasazi and has already set Goosebumps and Shazam! screenwriter Darren Lemke to adapt it into a film. Van Allsburg

Garden was actually the first book written by Van Allsburg, who won a Caldecott Honor medal for his efforts and would later go on to publish “Jumanji” and “The Polar Express.” The book follows a young boy who tries to rescue a dog from the garden of the great magician Abdul Gasazi.

Both Jumanji and The Polar Express were adapted into feature films, with the former currently in the process of getting a second sequel due at Christmas this year.
