4:17
Silas Lesnick: In the video, all the actors are trying to cosplay as their Cloudy characters.

Silas Lesnick: Both Cody and Chris worked as storyboard artists on the original
4:21
Silas Lesnick: Some minor mic troubles with Bill Hader’s, but all is working now.
4:22
Silas Lesnick: Faris is talking about how surprisingly different voicework is from live action.
4:22
Silas Lesnick: Crews is taking over from Mr. T., who Crews is now praising.
4:23
Silas Lesnick: He says he thinks of taking over the character as being just like when different actors play Batman.
4:23
Silas Lesnick: “He’s the manliest man who was ever animated,” says Crews.
4:24
Silas Lesnick: The new movie begins 60 seconds after the last movie ends.
4:24
ComingSoon.net: Getting a lot of questions where the live stream is. This is a live blog, not the same thing. We aren’t allowed to video Hall H, but will be describing things for you as the panel goes along.
4:25
Comment From Sam
Thank you for doing this!
4:25
Silas Lesnick: Will Forte and Kristen Schaal are new characters and part of a new corporation called Live Corp.

4:26
Silas Lesnick: They’re showing a clip of Live Corp. The base of operations is inside a giant lightbulb.
4:26
Silas Lesnick: Lockwood comes in on a bus and is greeted by Schaal’s Barb, an organutan with a human brain inside her ape brain.
4:26
Silas Lesnick: “Like a turducken!” she says,
4:27

Silas Lesnick: Another clip has Lockwood gathering his group together.
4:29
Silas Lesnick: He goes to Sam to get her to come but doesn’t want to wake his dad, worried that he’ll tag along.

4:30
Silas Lesnick: “I’m not a barista!” he shouts when someone asks for coffee, “I’m a polista!”
4:30

4:33
Silas Lesnick: He says some of them remind him of John Carpenter’s The Thing or a David Cronenberg movie.
4:34
Silas Lesnick: When they were hired, both directors went to the supermarket and bought food to make physical models they could take photos of for reference.
4:35
Silas Lesnick: They’re showing off some footage of the foodimals in action now.
4:36
Silas Lesnick: It’s one huge, sweeping shot of the foodimal jungle.
4:38
Silas Lesnick: That sounds like it’s it for Cloudy 2. Mortal Instruments should be next in just a moment.
4:39
ComingSoon.net: Hmm, Andrew Garfield has been spotted – http://instagram.com/p/b9XSFfJCvO/
4:40
Spencer Perry-SHH: That’s not him, that’s the stay puft marshmallow man
4:40
Silas Lesnick: Signing off for just a moment to conserve battery as it looks like a lot of new people are entering Hall H. Be back in just a few minutes!
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONE
4:41
Spencer Perry-SHH: Just to recap, next up is MORTAL INSTRUMENTS. Followed by RoboCop and then The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
There aren’t any videos of the panel but we are blogging everything for you!
4:41
Comment From Guest
Is that Stay Puft thing gonna be a Ghostbusters III announcement?
4:41
Spencer Perry-SHH: No it’s Andrew Garfield concealing his identity (poorly)
4:42
ComingSoon.net: Great, Silas has turned into a foodimal.
4:43
Silas Lesnick: And we’re back! And apparently sitting right next to the world’s most excited Mortal Instruments fan. She’s doing a lot of screaming 🙂
4:43
Silas Lesnick: Here comes the cast and crew!
4:44
Spencer Perry-SHH: I’m doing plenty of screaming from my office too
4:44
Silas Lesnick: We’ve got star Lily Collins…

ComingSoon.net: Spencer, quit watching the Kardashians.
4:45
Silas Lesnick: who was a huge fan of the books before getting the role.

Silas Lesnick: Director Harald Zwart is talking about the difficulty of finding “shortcuts” so that as little as possible was removed from the original book.
4:46
Silas Lesnick: Original author Cassandra Clare says she was extremely involved in the production. She personally signed off on Collins in the lead.
4:47
Silas Lesnick: Jamie Campbell Bower is talked about how much of an attitude his character has. He describes him as being a “sassy bitch”.
4:48
Silas Lesnick: But he also loves the character’s vulnerability.
4:48

4:49

4:50
Silas Lesnick: Kevin Zegers is talking about the challenge of playing a character and having already read the books.
4:50
Silas Lesnick: “You can get ahead of yourself,” he says of the danger in reading on.
4:50
Silas Lesnick: “Fortunately, it looks like we’re already going to get to make at least one more of these,” he says.
4:51
Comment From Blank
I’d bet a majority of people there only showed up for Spider-Man haha
4:51
ComingSoon.net: Don’t tell that to the girl sitting next to Silas.
4:52
Silas Lesnick: Godfrey Gao, who plays Magnus Bane, is saying that Clare cameos at his character’s massive party.
4:52
Comment From prino
who is spiderman
4:52

4:53
Silas Lesnick: They’re about to show a clip from the film…
4:54
Silas Lesnick: The scene has Collins learning about the secret world of Shadowhunters while her mom (played by Lena Headey) is attacked at home.
4:55
Silas Lesnick: Her mom calls her in the middle of the attack, telling her that, no matter what, she can’t come home.
4:56
Silas Lesnick: Collins races through the street, trying to get home in time, but the house is in ruins. There’s a rotweiller that chases her and begins to transform into a massive tentacled creature.
4:57
Silas Lesnick: Collins escapes to the kitchen and fashions a makeshift blow torch from things under the sink.
4:57
Silas Lesnick: There’s an explosion and Collins is knocked unconscious for just a second, waking up to find the house in flames and the creature, now a pool of goo, beginning to reform.
4:58
Silas Lesnick: She’s saved at the last moment by a Shadowhunter, played by Bower.
4:58
Silas Lesnick: He tells her that it was a demon and that she’s not going to be able to trust anyone from here on out.
4:58
Silas Lesnick: “So how can I trust you?” she asks.
4:59
Silas Lesnick: “Well, I did just save your life,” he says as the clip fades to black.
4:59
Silas Lesnick: They’re opening up the floor to fan questions.
4:59
Comment From TepidShark
To the person who said that people at this panel were only interested in Spidey, I’m more interested in wanting to know what the Robocop reboot is all about.
5:00
Silas Lesnick: Clare says it’s very important for her to remain involved in the fan community. She’s very active with it online.
5:01
ComingSoon.net: Thanks for the retweet Spidey! https://twitter.com/spidermanmovie
5:01
Silas Lesnick: Collins is talking about how hard it was to do stunts in her Shadowhunter gear.
5:03
Silas Lesnick: Gao is talking about how embarrassing it was to have to act without pants.
5:03
Silas Lesnick: Clare is laughing that the underwear he wears in the scene is his actual underwear and not wardrobe.
ROBOCOP
5:04
Silas Lesnick: Looks like it’s switching over to RoboCop in just a moment. Be right back for when it starts!
5:04
ComingSoon.net: Please welcome Blake, who will be blogging along with Silas.
5:05
Spencer Perry-SHH: For those just joining us: RoboCop is up next, followed by The Amazing Spider-Man 2!
5:05
Spencer Perry-SHH: The panel is only scheduled to last another hour, so it shouldn’t be too much longer
5:06
Spencer Perry-SHH: Boom
5:06
Comment From Anonymous
Does anyone know if they’re gonna show some RoboCop footage?
5:06
Spencer Perry-SHH: I hope so, love me some RoboCop!
5:07
Blake Wright: I’m here! Ready for Robocop!
5:07
Spencer Perry-SHH: You have ten seconds to comply!
5:08
Blake Wright: Here we go!
5:09
ComingSoon.net: I’d buy that for a dollar.
5:09
Spencer Perry-SHH: Your move creep!
5:09
Blake Wright: Video… Sam Jackson doing a segment of the Novak Element (News show).
5:09
Blake Wright: American machines promoting peace and freedom abroad, but not in the US.
5:10
Blake Wright: Robots scanning civilians in Tehran.
5:10
Blake Wright: Sam: Why can’t we use these at home. Why is the US robo-phobic!?
5:10
Blake Wright: Michael Keaton (Ray Sellers) before a Senate panel.
5:11
Blake Wright: What do these machines feel? Nothing.
5:12
Blake Wright: Robots go crazy in Tehran. Feed to the Novak show cut by the Pentagon.
5:12
Blake Wright: Director hits the stage… now Abby Cornish, Michael Keaton…
5:12
Silas Lesnick: I’m here, too, but I’ll let Blake take the lead and just fill in details.
5:12
Blake Wright: Sam Jackson in the house!
5:12
Blake Wright: Now Joel Kinnaman… Robo himself!
5:13
Silas Lesnick: It looks like there’s going to be some significant commentary on modern drone warfare. In the world of the film, US robot law enforcement is already in effect in every country but America.
5:13
Blake Wright: Robo is a beloved film… that’s why director Padilha wanted to revise it.
5:14
Silas Lesnick: America is worried about the danger of non-human officers. Jackson’s character describes America as being “robophobic” in the footage.
5:14
Blake Wright: The comment on drones is clear.
5:14
Blake Wright: Keaton says his character is a ‘big thinker’. He understands the bigger picture.
5:15
Comment From RoboDemise
So no shots of RoboCop himself in the clip? only other “drones”
5:15
Blake Wright: Sam Jackson said Pat Novak is ‘Rush Sharpton’… heh.
5:15
Silas Lesnick: Not yet, no, RoboDemise, But I bet we’re gonna see a lot more in a moment.
5:16
Silas Lesnick: I’m going to let Blake take over descriptions and I’ll go through and try to answer some incoming questions.
5:16
Comment From Lee
Any of the drones look like ED-209?
5:16
Blake Wright: Robo has an internal battle between his AI and his humanity… like int he original.
5:17
Blake Wright: Some one is getting busted for filming in the back…
5:17
Silas Lesnick: Lee, yes and no. We see both ED-209s as well as more humanoid designs.
5:17
Blake Wright: Abbie said her grounded role was nice.
5:17
Blake Wright: Here comes the Robo footage.
5:18
Comment From Talhah Teaa Lockhat
Similar to the stuff from the recent viral vid?
5:18
Silas Lesnick: Very much so, Talhah.
5:18
Blake Wright: Keaton thinking on a ‘product with a conscience’.
5:18
Blake Wright: “We’re going to put a man inside a machine.”
5:19
Blake Wright: This is origin footage.
5:19
Blake Wright: He is injured in a car explosion.
5:19
Blake Wright: $2.6 billion project… RoboCop is born!
5:20
Blake Wright: The machine does everything. Alex is a ‘passenger’. Just along for the ride.
5:20
Blake Wright: He looks a bit like he stepped out of the last Tron movie.
5:20
Comment From Jeff
Any dialogue from the robocop? I’m eager to hear his voice!
5:21
Blake Wright: Dead or alive… you’re coming with me!
5:21
Silas Lesnick: They are really winning over this crowd! The footage looks great!
5:22
Silas Lesnick: We see a couple different RoboCop designs, including one that looks just like the original.
5:22
Blake Wright: Keaton says Sellers is a believer who’s past money. He looks past right and wrong. He is always looking for the next move.
5:22
Comment From Robb Sharp
Does he have a family in this version
5:22
Silas Lesnick: Yes, he has a wife and a young boy.
5:22
Blake Wright: Yes. There is a family.
5:22
Comment From ED-Giddyup409
How’s the suit look in the footage? Same as the black one from pics we’ve seen?
5:23
Blake Wright: Kinnaman is in the black suit, yes.
5:23
Silas Lesnick: The suit for much of it looks like in the set photos, but there are glimpses of other designs, including one that looks just like the Verhoeven version.
5:23
Blake Wright: Audience Q&A starting…
5:24
Silas Lesnick: The original design is actually pitched to Keaton’s character and he doesn’t like it. He says he wants it changed and likes black as a color.
5:24
Silas Lesnick: But there’s a flash later in the footage of Kinnaman in parts of the original suit.
5:24
Comment From Joel
Any footage of Oldman?
5:24
Silas Lesnick: Just a bit, Joel. We see him in a lab working on the suit.
5:25
Blake Wright: Paditha talks about drones in wars, current events. Who do you judge if a robot kills a child? The software designer?
5:25
Silas Lesnick: and a bit of him through the computerized RoboCop-vision.
5:25
Comment From Karim
Does his voice sound cybernetically synced?
5:25
Silas Lesnick: Yep, Karim. The voice is actually very, very much like in the original.
5:26
Comment From Howie Felterbush
Will they explain the human hand?
5:26
Silas Lesnick: They’re actually talking about it right now…
5:26
Blake Wright: It’s to give him a human hand shake. Human contact. For that reason only.
5:27
Silas Lesnick: But they’re also selling this RoboCop to the America of the film and need to remind the world that he’s human.
5:27
Comment From Alan
When is the film going to be released?
5:27
Spencer Perry-SHH: February 7, 2014
5:27
Silas Lesnick: Robo-Drones already exist in this world but, in America, robots are not allowed to pull the trigger on guns.
5:27
Silas Lesnick: So his exposed hands reminds people that he’s a cyborg.
5:28
Comment From João Paulo
Are the effects good?
5:28
Silas Lesnick: The effects look great! A really solid blend of CGI and practical effects.
5:29
Comment From gary
Sam Jackson is a news anchor??
5:29
Blake Wright: Keaton doesn’t have a hero/villain preference when looking for a role.
5:29
Silas Lesnick: It looks like he’s less an anchor and more a news pundit.
5:29
Blake Wright: Sam’s character is a Wolf Blitzer type. Kinda.
5:30
Comment From Craig
does robo have a working partnership with a ‘human’?
5:31
Silas Lesnick: It doesn’t look like it, but his wife (played by Abbie Cornish) seems to play a major role in helping him reconnect with his humanity.
5:31
Spencer Perry-SHH: No Anne Lewis?! What?!
5:32
Blake Wright: That’s it. Film hits next year!
5:33
Spencer Perry-SHH: Time for the main event people! THE SMURFS!
5:33
ComingSoon.net: LOL
5:33
Spencer Perry-SHH: just kidding, Spider-Man!

I’m sure the cast should be ‘swinging’ in soon…
5:34
ComingSoon.net: Is that you, Austin Powers?
5:34
Silas Lesnick: It’s getting dark in here…
5:34
Blake Wright: Here we go!
5:36
Spencer Perry-SHH: Be patient folks, it’s coming
5:36
Blake Wright: Webs filling the screens!
5:37
Silas Lesnick: The curtains just opened to reveal two more hidden screens!
5:37
Blake Wright: The Amazing Spider-Man 2!
5:37
Blake Wright: Marc Webb…
5:38
Silas Lesnick: *Dane Dehaan
5:38
Blake Wright: Showing footage of Spiderman outside the Con trying to get in.
5:39
Blake Wright: Getting hassled by security.
5:39
Blake Wright: Climbs the building… runs through some doors… and…
5:40
Blake Wright: Spidey! In full costume!
5:41

5:43
Silas Lesnick: Her apology video has been hijacked by Electro!
5:43
Blake Wright: Jamie Foxx in the house!
5:43
Blake Wright: Spidey tells Jamie he loved Django.
5:43
Blake Wright: Foxx gives him a ‘I love the way you die, boy.”
5:44
Blake Wright: Spidey keeps staring at Jamie.
5:44
Silas Lesnick: “Wait,” says Foxx, laughing, “Is this the real Spider-Man?”
5:44
Comment From Laura

Blake Wright: And he wishes for a day off.
5:46
Blake Wright: It’s Garfield, but the mask is still on.
5:47
Blake Wright: Spidey making Eduardo Saverin jokes.
5:47
Silas Lesnick: “Who is Andrew,” Spider-Man just asked when Marc Webb said the name.
5:47
Silas Lesnick: “He’s the actor that plays you in the movie,” says Webb.
5:48
Blake Wright: Spidey is leaving. He has to go to the bathroom.
5:48
Silas Lesnick: “I thought Eduardo Saverin played me?” Spidey deadpans.
5:48
Blake Wright: Foxx says it’s fun playing the villain. You don’t have to color inside the lines.
5:49
Spencer Perry-SHH: A “Social Network” joke for those paying attention
5:50
Silas Lesnick: “I wanted Electro to be a serious villain who wants to burn the city down and burn Spider-Man along with it,” says Foxx.
5:51
Blake Wright: Max (Electro) is in a hole. Even his Mom forgets his birthday. Foxx wanted Electro to be a serious individual who wanted to burn the city down.
5:51
Blake Wright: At the beginning of the new movie, Spider-man is having fun being Spider-man, according to Webb.
5:51
Blake Wright: Here comes some footage…
5:53
Blake Wright: You know what I like about being Spider-man? Everything!
5:54
Blake Wright: Gwen loves Spider-man, but loves Peter Parker more.
5:55
Blake Wright: Ooooh. Electro origin! Eels!
5:55
Blake Wright: Giamatti yes… no Rhino yet.
5:56
Blake Wright: Electro got some serious ‘dark side’ lightning going!
5:57
Silas Lesnick: Wow! That was an awesome trailer. Not quite finished yet with a couple of animatic sequences.
5:57
Blake Wright: Garfield appears! Apologizes for being late.
5:57
ComingSoon.net: Garfield, always late. Sheesh.
5:57
Silas Lesnick: There’s a great bit where Aunt May is asking Peter about staining a load of laundry with red and blue.
5:57
Silas Lesnick: “I was washing the flag!” says Peter.
5:57
Blake Wright: Talking about the Gwen/Spidey relationship. “They feel destined for each other.”
5:58

5:58

5:58
