Lupita Nyong’o will star in Universal Pictures’ upcoming outer space comedy. Deadline reports that the as-yet-untitled film is described as a cross between Miss Congeniality and Men in Black.
The film marks a reunion between Nyong’o and Australian writer/director Abe Forsythe, who helmed the zombie comedy Little Monsters, which had its world premiere at Sundance back in January. It’s expected to launch on Hulu sometime this year.
In addition to starring, the Oscar-winning actress will also produce the film with Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky. Emil Stern, Sigmund Stern and Jeanne Snow will serve as executive producers.

Nyong’o made waves this year playing dual roles as Adelaide and Red in Jordan Peele’s Us, which premiered at SXSW this year ahead of its theatrical release. Last year, she co-starred in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, and will be reprising her role as Maz Kanata in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker this December.
Up next, she’s working with director John Woo for his English language remake of The Killer, will co-star in Simon Kinberg’s spy flick 355 with Jessica Chastain and Marion Cottilard, and will star opposite fellow Oscar-winner Viola Davis for the historical drama The Woman King.
