Universal Pictures today announced that Fast & Furious 6 has become the fastest film to climb to $500 million at the worldwide box office in the studios history.
Fast & Furious 6 raced into the box office as number one in all 60 territories where it opened and held first position worldwide for two weeks in a row. The sixth film in the franchise scored Universals highest-grossing opening weekend of all time and the biggest for Universals homegrown “Fast & Furious” franchise. To date, the film has grossed $180.3 million in North America and $342.2 million internationally, with yesterdays grosses pushing the film past $500 million worldwide.
