Tom Hanks’ sci-fi feature Bios adds Samira Wiley to cast
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy Award-winning actress Samira Wiley has been tapped to join the cast of Amblin Entertainment’s forthcoming sci-fi drama Bios. Wiley will be joining Oscar winner Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) and Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out), whom are set portray the roles of an inventor and a robot, respectively.
Wiley is best known for her roles in Netflix’s Orange is the New Black as Poussey Washington and in Hulu’s award-winning series The Handmaid’s Tale as Moira. The latter has earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
The film follows Finch (Hanks), the last man on Earth. An ailing inventor facing his own mortality, Finch builds a robot (Jones) to keep his beloved dog safe. As the trio embarks upon an epic cross-country journey, the scientist must teach his creation to become “human” enough to take care of its charge, and the beloved pet to accept a new master.
