Alexandra Shipp Signs On To Star In Adam Devine-Led Lexi

Alexandra Shipp Joins Adam Devine in Upcoming Comedy Lexi

Deadline has brought word that Alexandra Shipp, known for her work as Storm in the prequel X-Men franchise, has signed on to co-star alongside Workaholics star Adam Devine in the upcoming CBS Films comedy Lexi.

The film, which is being penned and directed by The Hangover and Bad Moms duo Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, will be a comedy surrounding the problem when someone loves their phone more than they love anything or anyone else. Shipp has signed on to star as Cate, the romantic interest of Devine’s character.

Lexi, which is also being produced by Suzanne Todd (Bad Moms), is set to enter production in California in January.

Shipp, who appeared in the hit music biopic Straight Outta Compton, as well as the 2017 horror comedy Tragedy Girls and the romantic comedy Love, Simon, will next be seen in the upcoming twelfth installment of the X-Men franchise, Dark Phoenix, which is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019, as well as the upcoming action film Son of Shaft, which is set to hit theaters on June 14, 2019

Devine is most-known for his role in the Comedy Central hit series Workaholics, as well as for his roles in the fan-favorite musical comedies Pitch Perfect, the ABC sitcom Modern Family and the Cartoon Network series Uncle Grandpa.The 35-year-old comic can next be seen in the upcoming fantasy comedy Isn’t It Romantic alongside Pitch Perfect co-star Rebel Wilson, which is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2019, and the Disney+ family comedy Magic Camp, which is set to hit theaters sometime next year.
