Yesterday, news broke that director Lynne Ramsay was a no-show on the first day of filming for Jane Got a Gun, leaving producers Natalie Portman (who is also starring) and Scott Steindorff scrambling to find a replacement. Joel Edgerton, Rodrigo Santoro and Jude Law were also set to start filming.
Portman and Steindorff moved quick, however, and have already brought on board Warrior director Gavin O’Connor to take over the film, says The Hollywood Reporter. Filming could now start as early as Thursday in New Mexico.
The trade adds that clashes late last week with Steindorff led Ramsay to quit the project.
Jane Got a Gun centers on a woman who must ask an ex-lover for help in order to save her outlaw husband from a gang who are out to kill him.
