Daniel Radcliffe Looks to Frankenstein

Daniel Radcliffe is said to be in final negotiations to headline Twentieth Century Fox’s upcoming re-adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Variety has the news, saying that the Harry Potter star will play the leading role of Igor.

Paul McGuigan (Push, Lucky Number Slevin) is attached to direct the project, planned to begin production later this year. The film is scripted by Max Landis (Chronicle).

“I began to pick apart our knowledge of ‘Frankenstein’ and discovered that the public’s idea of this myth comes from a million different places,” Landis told ShockTillYouDrop.com in 2011. “…I became committed to recontextualizing it all so it all worked in one story. By the end of the day, it’s a period piece and yes, it’s from Igor’s perspective, but man it’s cool. It’s the best thing I’ve written.”

Radcliffe can next be seen in John Krokidas’ Kill Your Darlings and in Alexandre Aja’s Horns.
