Though Russell Crowe will unlikely share any screentime with co-star Amy Adams in this summer’s Man of Steel, one thing they do share is speaking about the film on “The Tonight Show.” Crowe spoke very generally about the film, but told a great anecdote about his son.
“It’s a reboot of the franchise with Zack Snyder who did the 300 film, with a young English fellow called Henry Cavill as Superman or Kal-El as I call him because he’s my son. Yeah, times have changed, I’m Superman’s dad.
“I said to my son Charlie, ‘I’m going to be Superman’s dad in the movie, so if I’m Superman’s dad what does that make you?’ and he got really excited and said ‘Superman’s brother?'”
They also showed off the upcoming action figure of Crowe (pictured left) which he laughed at and called “ridiculous.” Check out the video below.
Flying into 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on June 14, the Zack Snyder-directed action adventure also stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix and Richard Schiff.
In the film, a young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
