The EE British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) for 2013 were given out on Sunday, February 10, and Ben Affleck’s Argo won three of the prestigious awards, including Best Film, Editing and Best Director for Affleck. Ever since the Oscar nominations in early January when Affleck was snubbed for a directing nomination, Argo has pretty much swept all the awards since then and the BAFTAs confirms its lead over the competition.
Tom Hooper’s musical Les Misérables won four BAFTA awards including another Supporting Actress win for Anne Hathaway. The Lead Actor and Actress awards went to Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln and Emmanuelle Riva for Amour.
Christoph Waltz also added another win to his plate for his supporting role in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, which also won Original Screenplay.
The 23rd James Bond movie Skyfall won awards for Outstanding British Film and Original Music.
