Sony Pictures Animation celebrates its tenth anniversary this year with the release of their seventh theatrical feature Hotel Transylvania, which brings together two iconic names from comedy and horror as Adam Sandler voices the role of Count Dracula.
In this animated family film directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (“Samural Jack,” “Dexter’s Laboratory”), Dracula is running a hotel where monsters of all shapes and sizes can come for refuge from the humans that hate them. The Count is planning the 118th birthday for his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez), who is looking to finally get some independence by going out into the world, when a human named Jonathan (voiced by Andy Samberg) shows up and throws the Counts party plans into jeopardy when Mavis becomes smitten by the newcomer.
ComingSoon.net attended the junket for Hotel Transylvania up at the Toronto International Film Festival where we had a chance to speak with Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez, as well as Fran Drescher and Molly Shannon, who voice the wives of Frankenstein and Wayne the werewolf, respectively. We mostly spoke to the four of them about how and why they decided to do the movie as well as the process for recording their respective vocal tracks.
