Maze Runner: The Death Cure and Maze Runner Trilogy

This third and final installment in director Wes Ball’s dystopian Maze Runner trilogy once again stars Dylan O’Brien and the rebels of The Right Arm fight one last battle against the forces of WCKD. Fox has also released the entire trilogy on one 3-disc collection.

Den of Thieves

Gerard Butler, 50 Cent and O’Shea Jackson Jr. star in this Heat-esque crime thriller about a crew of bank robbers and the tough-as-nails cop pursuing them. Universal actually sent us a special lunch from the actual in-world Chinese restaurant Jackson Jr. delivers for in the movie, which you can check out a pic of below! Paddington 2

This delightful sequel to the 2014 hit once again features the gentle voice of Ben Whishaw as the famous London bear, who this time gets set up and jailed for a crime he didn’t commit.

Hostiles

Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi star in this epic western set in 1892 about an army captain transporting a dying Cheyenne chief back to his tribe. Available on 4K as well, with all versions containing an over hour-long making-of documentary.

Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool (exclusive clip)

Set in 1978 Liverpool, this is based on the real life between a young actor (Jamie Bell) and former Hollywood leading lady Gloria Graham (Annette Bening). Check out an exclusive clip from the DVD release below!

Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story

This thrilling documentary documents the life of sexy movie icon and secret scientific genius Hedy Lamarr. Features interviews with the likes of Gillian Jacobs, Mel Brooks, Peter Bogdanovich and the late Robert Osborne.

Backstabbing for Beginners

Oscar winner Ben Kingsley stars in this thriller about a UN official involved in a scandal uncovered by his own employee, played by Theo James (Divergent).

Criterion Corner

Dead Man

Jim Jarmusch’s elegiac revisionist western from 1995 stars Johnny Depp as the title character, a wounded accountant who forms a bond with an eccentric Native American outcast named Nobody that ultimately leads to a spiritual journey. While the pace can be punishing at times, Gary Farmer shines as Nobody, and the crunchy score by Neil Young anchors the film’s episodic structure. One of Jarmusch’s most interesting films is given a new 4K transfer by The Criterion Collection, and features new interviews with the director and farmer along with footage of Young performing the film’s score. Highly recommended.

Grease: 40th Anniversary Yearbook Edition (exclusive clip)

The evergreen John Travolta/Olivia Newton John musical celebrates its 40th Anniversary with a new yearbook edition that contains the movie on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital. Cyborg

Shot on redressed sets intended for a never-made Spider-Man movie, this 1989 dystopian sci-fi action gem stars Jean-Claude Van Damme in one of his first big roles as a wasteland hero trying to rescue a half-human/half cyborg woman who can cure humanity with a vaccine. Directed by legendary B-movie auteur Albert Pyun (The Sword and the Sorcerer, Captain America), and one of the final releases from the legendary shlock studio Cannon Films.

A Pistol For Ringo & The Return of Ringo

Spawning an empire of knock-offs, the original two Ringo films were unique among spaghetti westerns in that the title gunslinger, played by Giuliano Gemma, is sort of the antithesis of Clint Eastwood’s Man With No Name in that he is well-dressed, charming, upbeat and only drinks milk (you know, to keep his aim good). This new release from Arrow brings together the original two films, and they offer plenty of fun for fans of the subgenre, not to mention exquisite Ennio Morricone scores. The disc is loaded with the usual array of Arrow extras, including archival featurettes, new interviews and more!

Killer Clowns From Outer Space

Arrow has also released a fully-loaded new Blu-ray edition of The Chiodo Brothers’ ’80s cult classic, which features some of the most bizarro scenes from any horror movie of that era. The disc includes a doc on the Chiodo’s childhood movies, some of their earlier stop-motion efforts, a making of doc and much much more!

The Maze 3D

This oddball black & white 3D terror flick from 1953 offers up a brilliant, atmospheric setting in a gothic Scottish castle with an adjacent hedge maze, courtesy of director/former production designer William Cameron Menzies (Things to Come). The pivotal creature the film revolves around only gets a few minutes of screentime at the end, but it’s well worth the wait. Highly recommended to all fans of weird cinema, and the disc is compatible with 3D TVs/Blu-ray players.

A Woman’s Devotion

This sturdy little drama from 1956 involves a WWII hero (Ralph Meeker) going through post-traumatic stress who may or may not be having spells in which he murders people. Janice Rule is his new bride who tries to protect her husband from the law, represented by Paul Henreid (Casablanca), who also directed the film. This is mostly recommended for the stunning technicolor footage of 1950’s Acapulco, which looks like a paradise on Earth.

The Holy Mountain

Kino Lorber releases this stunning German silent film from 1926 featuring the breakout performance by future Nazi filmmaker extraordinaire Leni Riefenstahl. Features some stunning mountainscapes in the German alps, and the disc contains interview footage with Riefenstahl.

Moon Child

Cult Epics releases a new Blu-ray edition of Agusti Villaronga’s 1989 Spanish fantasy film, which centers around a 12-year-old boy adopted by a scientific cult. Based on Aleister Crowley’s book, the film gets a solid Blu-ray treatment, with a new HD transfer, an interview with Villaronga and an isolated score by Dead Can Dance.

New on Digital HD

Fifty Shades Freed

The Fifty Shades trilogy reaches its dramatic climax with this hit threequel, which once again features Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan bumping and grinding their way through a psychological thriller involving kidnapping, treachery and BDSM.

Peter Rabbit

This live-action hit based on Beatrix Potter’s classic creation stars Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson and Sam Neill, and features the voices of James Corden and Daisy Ridley.
