New Movies on Blu-ray/DVD
Thor: Ragnarok
Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) brings his trademark sense of humor to the Marvel Universe with this hilarious intergalactic adventure. Mark Ruffalo returns as The Hulk, but it’s Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster and Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie that steal the show. The Blu-ray includes deleted scenes, a gag reel, the “Team Darryl” short and several featurettes including a cool one on the visual influence of Jack Kirby!
Lady Bird
Writer/director Greta Gerwig’s heartfelt coming-of-age movie was nominated for five Academy Awards this year, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress (Saoirse Ronan) and Best Supporting Actress (Laurie Metcalf). It follows a Sacramento, California Catholic high school girl as she attempts to find herself despite a well-meaning mother.
Aliens Ate My Homework

Con Man (exclusive clip)
An all-star cast brings to life the story of a charismatic young business man who becomes a wealthy CEO by lying, cheating and stealing his way to the top.The film stars James Caan, Ving Rhames, Justin Baldoni, Elisabeth Röhm , Mark Hamill, Talia Shire and Armand Assante. The Dark Crystal
Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s 1982 epic fantasy was ahead of its time, creating an entire Tolkien-esque world entirely with puppets. Now a new 36th Anniversary Blu-ray edition brings this overlooked gem home in a gorgeous new transfer, with a hardbound booklet packaging containing behind-the-scenes info and photos.
A Fistful of Dynamite
Perhaps the most overlooked of Sergio Leone’s western classics, this 1971 oddity (also known as Duck You Sucker) finds the Once Upon a Time in the West director telling a story of a Mexican revolutionary (Rod Steiger) and an Irish explosives expert (James Coburn) teaming up to free political prisoners. The devilish western comedy takes a sharp turn into the serious in the final act that doesn’t quite work, but it’s nonetheless required viewing for any fan of Leone’s Dollars Trilogy. The Blu includes audio commentary by British punk director Alex Cox, six informative featurettes and trailers for all 5 of Leone’s westerns.
Basket Case
Frank Henenlotter’s 1982 cult classic arrives in a deluxe Blu-ray from Arrow with a lavish new 4K restoration by New York’s Museum of Modern Art. The story of a man and his formerly conjoined deformed twin murdering folks in the Big Apple features a smörgåsbord of extras including a brand new Henenlotter commentary, interviews with the cast, and a feature-length documentary on the Basket Case trilogy titled “What’s in the Basket?”
The Doctors: Monsters!
This 2-disc DVD set collects a retro documentary special hosted by the seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy, titled ‘I Was a Doctor Who Monster!’ as well as five titles from the Reeltime Pictures acclaimed ‘Myth Makers’ series. For the first time Doctor Who fans can learn about the men and women that brought to life the monsters that sent them “behind the sofa”!
