Brawl in Cell Block 99
Vince Vaughn gives an incredible comeback performance as an ex-boxer who lands in jail. Once there, a shady character played by Udo Kier blackmails him with the life of his infant child in exchange for some dirty work in the prison. Jennifer Carpenter and Don Johnson co-star in this gripping grindhouse pic from writer/director S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk).
Flatliners
Out on Blu-ray this week is this pseudo-remake/sequel to Joel Schumacher’s 1990 cult classic. This time a new crew of young med students (Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Kiersey Clemons) decide to play god by killing each other briefly under controlled conditions in order to experience the afterlife. Kiefer Sutherland returns playing sort-of the same role as the original.
Mayhem
The Walking Dead‘s Steven Yeun stars in this action horror comedy about a guy who gets fired from a law firm the same day an airborne virus breaks out.
Reissues
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
James Cameron’s explosive blockbuster sequel is just as hard-hitting and emotionally powerful as it was in 1991. Thanks to a brand-new 4K digital restoration it also looks just as good if not BETTER, and reminds us once again that great effects and a killer story are always the best combo. The Apartment
Billy Wilder’s 1960 Best Picture-winning comedy-drama comes to Blu-ray in a special deluxe set from Arrow Video. The limited edition includes a sparkling new 4K restoration from the original camera negative, plus loads of extra features as well as a separate hardcover book of selected critical writings on the film, which stars Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. Lemmon plays a sad sack employee of a Manhattan office whose career takes an upswing when he begins loaning out his apartment to upper management to tryst with their mistresses.
D.O.A.: A Right of Passage
This classic punk documentary from 1980 chronicles the Sex Pistols’ first and only U.S. tour, at the end of of which the iconic band broke up. You’ll also find incredible footage of other punk groups like Generation X, The Dead Boys and Sham 69.
New on Digital HD
Blade Runner 2049
Ryan Gosling tries to fill the shoes of Harrison Ford in director Denis Villeneuve’s gorgeous, emotional but ultimately unnecessary sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic. While the original’s plot was streamlined and simple, this one is pointlessly convoluted and leaves room for a second sequel that will probably never happen. Harrison Ford is game as the returning Rick Deckard, although it’s Ana de Armas’s new form of Replicant that steals the show.
The Foreigner
Jackie Chan plays a former special forces guy who seeks revenge after his daughter is killed in a bombing perpetrated by former IRA terrorists. Pierce Brosnan co-stars as a former IRA member turned politician that Chan’s character suspects.
TV on Blu-ray and DVD

Sam Worthington plays FBI agent Jim Fitzgerald, whose profiling expertise led to the capture. The 2-disc Blu-ray set includes three featurettes, and ComingSoon.net has an exclusive clip featuring the real Fitzgerald talking about his experience with the Unabomber. Check it out below!
