Disturbing Barbara Crampton thriller Sun Choke now in theaters
Writer/director Ben Cresciman’s disturbing female-centric psychological chiller Sun Choke is currently in limited theatrical release (as well as on VOD and iTunes) from XLrator Media and it’s well worth your time.
Legendary genre icon and actress Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, Castle Freak, From Beyond) stars along with Sarah Hagan and Sara Malakul in this tale of a young woman named Janie (Hagan) recovering from a nervous breakdown who is doted on by her unhinged, holistic medicine-obsessed nanny (Crampton). In the middle of her weird world of therapy and unorthodox treatment, Janie meets another woman (Malakul) and a most unhealthy, bizarre and obsessive relationship develops.

Sun Choke is one of a series of well-regarded indie genre films that mark Crampton’s career renaissance, one that began with Adam Wingard’s You’re Next and does not seem to be yielding any time soon.
