April 19 brings home The Revenant, Norm of the North, Veep, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and more!
Welcome to ComingSoon.net’s look at all the top titles arriving this week on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. Check out the gallery viewer below for a look at the major new releases, catalogue films and television collections hitting shelves and/or VOD beginning Tuesday, April 19, 2016.
Having taken home three Academy Awards (including Best Actor, Director and Cinematography), Alejandro González’s The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, comes home April 19. Meanwhile, the animated adventure Norm of the North delivers a very different sort of cinematic bear. Other recent big screen releases include The Lady in the Van, starring Maggie Smith, IP Man 3, starring Donnie Yen, and the legal drama Misconduct, starring Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino. Rounding out the list of new releases is the Marlon Wayans spoof Fifty Shades of Black.
Shout! Factory‘s Scream Factory imprint delivers a new collectors edition of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, packed with newly-created special features. Olive Films brings to Blu-ray Samuel Fuller’s 1974 telefilm Dead Pigeon on Beethoven Street, while the Criterion Collection inducts Whit Stillman’s Barcelona. If you haven’t already picked up Criterion’s Blu-ray editions of Metropolitan and The Last Days of Disco, you might instead want to grab all three films together in the Whit Stillman Trilogy Collection.
Small screen titles arriving April 19 include the fifth and final season of Syfy‘s supernatural drama Haven and the ninth and final season of Little House on the Prairie (debuting in HD for the first time). HBO then delivers two of its comedy hits with the fourth season of Veep and the second season of Silicon Valley. Look for both series to premiere new episodes next Sunday, April 24.
Digital HD titles arriving this week include the Nicholas Sparks drama The Choice as well as another romance tale, the period drama A Royal Night Out.
