Welcome to ComingSoon.net’s look at all the top titles arriving this week on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. Check out the gallery viewer below for a look at the major new releases, catalogue films and television collections hitting shelves and/or VOD beginning Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
Katniss Everdeen leads the charge this week as March 22 brings home the grand finale that is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. If you’ve been holding off collecting the films in anticipation of a complete series box set, you might instead be interested in The Hunger Games Four Film Collection, which offers up the entire series and more than 14 hours of bonus content, spread across six discs (including one disc exclusive to the collection).
March 22 also brings home the recent Paramount Pictures comedy Daddy’s Home, starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell (watch exclusive animated bedtime stories here!), and debuting straight to home entertainment is the animated feature Monster High: The Great Scarrier Reef.
Shout Factory‘s Scream Factory line this week offers up some ’90s horror with the first ever Blu-ray edition of 1998’s Disturbing Behavior (starring Katie Holmes, James Marsden and Nick Stahl). Also arriving from Shout! Factory is an HD edition of their excellent Freaks and Geeks complete series set.
The Criterion Collection, meanwhile, debuts Edward Yang’s acclaimed 1991 Taiwanese crime drama A Brighter Summer Day.
Warner Archive has a number of new titles arriving March 22, including the first ever Blu-ray of Neil Jordan’s Michael Collins. They’ve also got a trio of Marion Davies features available through their Manufactured on Demand (MOD) service, including 1930’s The Floradora Girl, 1930’s Not So Dumb and 1933’s Peg O’ My Heart. Rounding out the week is another trio of rarely seen releases with DVDs of 1968’s A Fine Pair, 1970’s Brotherly Love and 1972’s Melinda.
Other small screen releases hitting March 22 include a special edition of Fear the Walking Dead: Season One, season five and six of Lost Girl and, on DVD only, the second seasons of both Turn: Washington’s Spies and The Royals.
Hitting Digital HD this week is Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Academy Award winning The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and the animated Easter special Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade.
