Hitting theaters this Friday, the zombie comedy drama Life After Beth marks the debut feature of writer/director Jeff Baena (whose previous credit is as a writer on David O. Russell’s I Heart Huckabees).
Dane DeHaan stars as Zach Orfman, a young man whose world has been shaken following the sudden death of his girlfriend, Aubrey Plaza’s Beth Slocum. Things get weird, though, when Beth simply comes back to life with no memory of having ever died. Now, Zach has to deal with his now-undead girlfriend (who seems to be getting increasingly more undead), Beth’s overprotective parents (played by John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon) and his gun-loving older brother, Kyle (Matthew Gray Gubler), who goes on a bit of a power trip when more of the recently deceased start coming back.
