Alongside Monroe, the cast for the film included Keir Gilchrist (Atypical), Daniel Zovatto (Penny Dreadful: City of Angels), Jake Weary (Animal Kingdom) and Olivia Luccardi (Viena and the Fantomes). It Follows made its debut at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival before a wide release in March 2015 and received rave reviews from critics upon release for its suspenseful approach to terror, original and layered story and performances from its cast, namely Monroe, and was a box office success, grossing over $23 million on a $2 million budget.
A follow-up film has been discussed a few times by Radius-TWC Co-President Tom Quinn since the film’s success, though no official word has come out in the years since about whether another film is in the works or whether Mitchell and the cast are being eyed to return.
