The month of January was a real mixed bag of releases, beginning with the critical and commercial flops Underwater, The Grudge, Like a Boss, Dolittle and The Turning with the occasional bright light being found in the well-received action comedy threequel Bad Boys For Life and box office smash Guy Ritchie-helmed ensemble crime thriller The Gentlemen. February marked a major turn for the year, starting with the well-received DC Extended Universe installment Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and the smash video game adaptation Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as the generally successful The Photograph, Emma. and The Invisible Man.
Once the global health concerns hit in March, however, the release calendar took a huge hit and many films were pushed out of the month, with the few films of note getting a theatrical release in the month including Pixar’s Onward, the acclaimed Ben Affleck-starring The Way Back, the Vin Diesel comic book vehicle Bloodshot and the highly controversial Blumhouse thriller The Hunt.
ComingSoon.net recommends all readers comply with CDC guidelines and remain as isolated as possible during this urgent time.
