ComingSoon.net has been provided with two exclusive behind-the-scenes clips, nearly 13 minutes of footage from “Hit the Lights: The Making of Metallica Through the Never,” a look at what went into making the upcoming Metallica Through the Never, which will be released exclusively in IMAX 3D theaters on September 27 before expanding to non-IMAX theaters on October 4.
Directed by Nimrod Antal (Predators), Metallica Through the Never documents a unique concert experience created specifically for the film and shot in IMAX 3D in front of a live audience of rabid Metallica fans with nearly 25 cameras. On top of that, there’s a running narrative storyline that has Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) playing a roadie named Trip who is sent on a journey through an abandoned city, which is integrated with the concert footage.
In the videos below, you can watch and hear the band and their management talking about the challenges and concerns of making a feature-length 3D movie.
Look for ComingSoon.net’s interview with Metallica drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich sometime soon as well as an interview with director Nimrod Antal.
