Superhero fans can expect many trips to the multiplex with X-Men, New Mutants, Spider-Man and, of course, The Avengers punching their way across screens. Action fare will be plentiful as well, with stars like Keanu Reeves, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Dave Bautista, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Gerard Butler all flexing their muscles. Big franchises get new installments as well, including John Wick , Angry Birds , The Conjuring , Godzilla , Men in Black , Fast & Furious , and …Has Fallen .

Avengers: Endgame (April 26)
The culmination of 11 years of storytelling comes to a head as the original core Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Hulk) recruit new heroes (Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, Rocket) to aid them in reversing the damage done by Thanos. The must-see event of the summer!
Long Shot (May 3)
Seth Rogen plays a schlubby journalist who strikes up an unlikely relationship with his former babysitter (Charlize Theron), who happens to be running for President of the United States. Jonathan Levine, who previously directed Rogen in 50/50 and The Night Before , helms the romantic comedy.
UglyDolls (May 3)
Based on the popular line of plush dolls, this animated family film finds the residents of Uglyville coming across the town of Perfection, a place where everyone is perfect.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu (May 10)
Ryan Reynolds voices the title sleuth, an adorable wisecracking Pokemon who is aiding a former Pokémon trainer looking for his missing father (Justice Smith). Directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps ).
The Hustle (May 10)
This female remake of 1988's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels stars Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson as an expert con artist and her slovenly portege, respectivley. Alex Sharp plays their big mark, a tech billionaire in his early-20s.
Tolkien (May 10)
This biopic of The Lord of the Rings author stars Nicholas Hoult as a young J. R. R. Tolkien whose friendships are tested by the onset of WWI, leading to the creation of one of the great modern mythologies.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (May 17)
Keanu Reeves is back as the title super assassin, newly exiled from the world of The Continental and having to recruit an old partner in the form of Halle Berry's Sophia. Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Anjelica Huston and Ian McShane co-star.
Aladdin (May 24)
You ain't never had a friend like Will Smith as the genie in director Guy Ritchie's lavish live-action re-imagining of the Disney's 1992 animated classic.
Brightburn (May 24)
James Gunn produces this unique (and unofficial) take on the Superman mythos as Elizabeth Banks plays a loving mother who discovers an alien child with superpowers who turns out to be... pure evil.
Booksmart (May 24)
Actress Olivia Wilde makes her directorial debut with this raunchy comedy that is something of a female spin on the Superbad formula. It stars Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein as two overachieving dorks looking for a night of fun on the last day of high school.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (May 31)
A followup to the 2014 American remake finds the title monster having to take on several of his most famous foes, including Rodan, Mothra and the three-headed King Ghidorah. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown plays his young human ally.
Rocketman (May 31)
Taron Egerton stars as Elton John in this unconventional biopic from director Dexter Fletcher that uses fantasy, musical dance sequences and more to tell the famous singer's story.
Ma (May 31)
Director Tate Taylor re-teams with his Oscar-winning The Help star Octavia Spencer as a lonely woman whose offer to buy some teenagers beer turns into a night of psychotic obsession. Jason Blum produces this harrowing horror flick.
Dark Phoenix (June 7)
The Fox era of X-Men movies comes to a shattering conclusion with this retelling of the Dark Phoenix Saga (first covered haphazardly in The Last Stand ), in which Jean Grey's full power potential is unleashed to horrifying degrees.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 (June 7)
Patton Oswalt replaces original voice star Louis C.K. as Max, the Jack Russell Terrier who is now learning to cope with his owners new child. Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate and Tiffany Haddish also voice roles in Illumination's animated sequel.
Late Night (June 7)
Amazon Studios acquired this comedy/drama from writer/co-star Mindy Kaling for a Sundance-record $13 million. It stars Emma Thompson as a talk show host trying to revitalize her flagging program.
Men in Black International (June 14)
Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, so great together in Thor: Ragnarok , re-team in a new franchise for a soft reboot of the previously New York-based series. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be back, but Emma Thompson reprises her role as O, while Liam Neeson plays the head of the UK branch of alien regulators.
Shaft (June 14)
Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Roundtree both reprise the iconic role of Detective John Shaft, ushering in the new generation played by Jessie T. Usher. This time, however, the younger Shaft is here to teach the older generation computer savvy while learning how to be a man from them.
The Dead Don't Die (June 14)
Jim Jarmusch (Paterson , Only Lovers Left Alive ) gathers an all-star cast for this indie zombie comedy starring Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi and RZA.
Toy Story 4 (June 21)
Buzz Lightyear and Woody have been passed on to Andy's sister Bonnie, and this new entry revolves around the search to recover Bo Peep and also introduces a new hand-crafted toy named Forky.
Child's Play (June 21)
Mark Hamill voices the iconic killer doll Chucky, who is now also a killer app in this modern-day reboot starring Aubrey Plaza.
Annabelle Comes Home (June 28)
This is the first of the Conjuring spin-offs to feature The Warrens (Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga) in supporting roles. It makes sense because this one focuses on their daughter Judy (Mckenna Grace) going through hell when her babysitter unleashes the evil of the title doll.
Yesterday (June 28)
Himesh Patel stars as a struggling musician who wakes up one day to find he's the only person on earth who remembers the music of The Beatles. Oscar-winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire , Trainspotting ) directs.
Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 2)
The first post-Endgame MCU movie follows Peter Parker on a European class trip where he gets intercepted by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) on a mission. Jake Gyllenhaal plays classic comics villain Mysterio.
Stuber (July 12)
Kumail Nanjiani plays a mild-mannered Uber driver who picks up a psychotic cop (Dave Bautista) on a mission to track down a terrorist in this broad comedy.
The Lion King (July 19)
Director Jon Favreau takes his Jungle Book bag of tricks to the next level of photorealism with this "live action" (CGI) remake of Disney's 1994 animated classic. The voice cast includes Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Beyoncé and a returning James Earl Jones.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (July 26)
Quentin Tarantino is going back to 1960's Hollywood for this fictional ensemble film that incorporates the Sharon Tate story. The all-star cast roster includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Bruce Dern, Al Pacino, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen and more!
Brahms: The Boy II (July 26)
A young family (including Katie Holmes) move into the Heelshire Mansion, where their son befriends the doll Brahms and evil shenanigans ensue.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (August 2)
The first Fast & Furious franchise spin-off features Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham's characters taking on a genetically-enhanced supervillain played by Idris Elba.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold (August 2)
Dora and her monkey sidekick Diego seek to solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization. Isabela Moner plays the popular animated character come to life.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (August 9)
The phenomenally-popular YA books of collected horror folklore form the basis of this new scare flick from producer Guillermo del Toro.
The Angry Birds Movie 2 (August 14)
The flightless birds and scheming green pigs take their beef to the next level in this sequel directed by animation great Thurop Van Orman (Flapjack ).
Good Boys (August 16)
Three sixth grade boys ditch school and embark on an epic journey while carrying accidentally stolen drugs, being hunted by teenage girls, and trying to make their way home in time for a long-awaited party. Jacob Tremblay stars.
Where'd You Go, Bernadette (August 16)
Richard Linklater directs this story of a Seattle woman (Cate Blanchett) who unexpectedly disappears, leaving her husband and daughter to set off on an adventure to solve the mystery of where she might have gone.
Angel Has Fallen (August 23)
Secret Service Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is framed for the attempted assassination of the President and must evade his own agency and the FBI as he tries to uncover the real threat.
