ComingSoon.net’s 25 Most Anticipated Movies of 2019!
It’s 2019! A new year is upon us, so ComingSoon.net is looking into our crystal ball to try to figure out which movies we think our readers are going to really love over the next 12 months. With that in mind, we present to you the list of our 25 Most Anticipated 2019 Movies , which you can check out in the gallery below!
RELATED: ComingSoon.net’s Top 10 Movies of 2018 Lists!
Last year ComingSoon.net turned twenty years old, and if you looked at the top 10 movies of our founding year of 1998 you would only find two remakes (Dr. Dolittle and Godzilla ) and one sequel (Lethal Weapon 4 ). The rest of the films including Armageddon, Saving Private Ryan , There’s Something About Mary and A Bug’s Life were all original properties. There’s a good chance the 9th highest grossing film of that year, Shakespeare in Love , would be released straight to VOD these days.
The truth is every film in the Top 10 grossers of 2018 was a franchise film save one (Bohemian Rhapsody ), so if our list seems very franchise-centric that is simply because those are the films most audiences and our readership seem to be engaged with in this day and age. You’ll still find a few original films from ace filmmakers in the list, and throughout the year we will still cover the full range of movies coming out in 2019, be they drama, action, indie or even edgy Netflix offerings.
