BTS RM is making his comeback in 2024 with a new album titled Right Place, Wrong Person. BigHit Music shared the release date and pre-order details of the upcoming project.
RM, aka Kim Namjoon, released his first solo, self-titled mixtape in 2015. His critically acclaimed second mixtape, Mono, dropped in 2018. Years after his mixtape releases, RM made his official solo debut in 2022 with Indigo.
BTS RM releasing new album Right Place, Wrong Person in May
RM’s new album, Right Place, Wrong Person, will be released on May 24 at 1 p.m. KST, 12 a.m. ET, 5 a.m. BST, and 6 a.m. CET. The physical album will be available in three versions. Pre-orders for Right Place, Wrong Person started on April 26. Fans can order RM’s new album from Weverse Shop USA, Weverse Shop Global, and other sites like Yes24 and Ktown4u.
BTS RM’s new album will come almost two years after his official solo debut, Indigo, released on December 2, 2022. The K-pop album contained ten tracks and featured several renowned artists, including Anderson .Paak, Tablo, Paul Blanco, Colde, Erykah Badu, Cherry Filter’s Youjeen, and Park Ji-Yoon.
The album peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard 200, number 1 on the Billboard’s World Albums Chart, and number 2 on South Korea’s Circle Album Chart. In addition to its sales, music critics worldwide highly praised the album. Billboard ranked the album number 1 on their year-end 25 Best K-pop Albums of 2022 list. Genius Korea also included it at number 1 on their Best K-Pop Albums of 2023 list.
Music critic Ashlee Mitchell reviewed the album for the official Grammy website, praising that it “showcases a new level of artistry from the rapper.” Ashlee summarized RM’s true intention behind the album by stating, “This album is about the art of music, not breaking records or following trends.”
After Indigo, which has set the bar pretty high, fans are looking forward to another moody masterpiece from the gifted lyricist and music producer RM, who also happens to be the leader of the most successful K-pop act in the world, BTS.
