Zerobaseone shares cinematic teaser ahead of May comeback
Zerobaseone is reportedly making its 2024 comeback in May. Before officially announcing the comeback schedule, the K-pop superstars released a cinematic teaser titled “Summer Came Early.”
The nostalgic teaser unveiling a montage of the group’s summer days made fans emotional. The teaser film comes with a voice-over where the group says, “Hello… our first greeting. The blinding sun and us, dancing under it. Our beautiful time. Here, now. You’re the only thing [I’m] drawn to.”
Meanwhile, Zerobaseone released their last EP, Melting Point, on November 6, 2023. The five-track EP could not surpass the sales of the group’s debut album, Youth In The Shade. But the album’s reception has been impressive: Within weeks of its release in South Korea, it sold over 1,863,416 copies.
The album peaked at number 2 on South Korea’s Circle Album Chart. It has also sold over 74,153 albums in Japan, leading to its 31st rank on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart.
Along with gaining global popularity, Zerobaseone has also won multiple year-end prizes. The “Crush” crooners won the Rookie of the Year award at the 2024 Golden Disc Awards. Previously, they also won the Best New Male Artist award at the 2023 Mnet Asia Music Awards.
