TXT‘s latest title track, “Deja Vu,” dropped on April 1, 2024. The new track’s lyrics have sent fans into a frenzy as Moas (TXT fans) discusses the meaning of Anemoia and how the new title ties the entire album together.
Tomorrow x Together, aka TXT, released their 2024 comeback EP, “Minisode 3: Tomorrow.” The extended play explores the story of a boy who cherishes a past promise. He searches to find himself and discovers a core memory that becomes a part of his identity. The EP contains five tracks exploring the theme of promise through the lens of different emotions.
Meaning of Anemoia in TXT’s new track ‘Deja Vu’
TXT’s new title track, “Deja Vu,” comes in two versions: the original and the Anemoia remix. In “Deja Vu,” TXT sings: “The morse code amidst the ruins an old promise, promise/ Not knowing the reason of my tears, my anemoia.”
‘Anemoia’ means nostalgia for a time or place you’ve never experienced. In the title track, TXT mourns the lost time spent running away from the promises they made. They ask the listeners for a way to dream again. So, ‘anemoia’ signifies the group’s yearning to reminisce about their old dreams.
In “Deja Vu,” TXT is desperate to regain the person and the promise they have lost amidst the chaos of youth. In Verse 2, they sing, “Even when I’m falling, you’re all I need/ Amid all the ruins, our place of promise/ The land of rest, the return of eternity/ You’re the one that waited for me.”
The theme of promise also circles back in the B-side track, “Miracle,” where the group confesses: “I wandered alone through the maze in the mirror/ I, who never believed in miracles/ To me, who was afraid of tomorrow’s sun/ You are the candle light in the darkness.”
Meanwhile, TXT will start their Promise tour on May 3 in Seoul. After three back-to-back shows in Seoul, the K-pop act will tour the United States.
TXT’s U.S. tour will start on May 14, 2024, at the Tacoma Dome of Washington. After seven shows, the group will conclude their U.S. tour on June 8, 2024, at June Capital One Arena.
