As per Korean media reports, BTS-inspired K-drama Youth will drop in April. Youth will have twelve episodes, divided into three parts, with four episodes each.
The drama is co-produced by BTS’s parent company, HYBE Labels, Chorokbaem Media, and Finger Labs. As per Chorokbaem Media, Youth will be available to watch in Xclusive, a platform pioneering Web 3.0 technology.
The trailer of Youth gives a sneak peek of the storyline and a co-relation with BTS universe characters. Kim Hwan’s character in the drama is built around Jin’s storyline in BTS’ Most Beautiful Moment In Life. Played by Seo Ji Hoon, Kim Hwan is the son of a politician. Due to his father’s reputation, he finds it hard to blend into groups but eventually finds friends who become his support system.
Cein’s character is based on Suga’s arc from the BTS universe, and K-drama actor Ro Jong Hyun will play the role. In Youth, Cein is haunted by the rumors that he has burned down his own house and killed his mother.
Hosu (based on J-hope and played by Ahn Jo Ho) struggles with abandonment and interest in Youth. He fears getting close to someone as the thought of the other person leaving him never disappears. But Hosu eventually finds his comfort zone in a group of people who never forget to celebrate life’s tiny bits of happiness with him.
Dogeon (RM, played by Seo Young Joo) has had a challenging life. From figuring out how to pay bills early on to always giving up on his dreams due to poverty, Dogeon’s life differs from his friends.
Haru (Jimin, played by Kim Yoon Woo) carries a secret that he can’t tell anyone. The burdening truth weighs his life down, with flashbacks of the incident recurring vividly and occasionally. The trailer reveals Haru’s urge to unearth the truth so his life can move again.
Jooan (V, played by Jung Woo Jin) has one of the most heartwrenching plotlines in Youth. Jooan is a victim of abuse at home as well as in school. Even though he keeps it a secret from everyone, eventually, his friends ask him the truth.
The youngest character in the drama, Jeha (Jungkook, portrayed by Jeon Jin Seo), is losing interest in life as he stands on a busy road and tries to harm himself on another occasion. His friends become his saviors.
