Since its debut, the K-pop’s rising iconic group, Le Sserafim, has been making waves in the music charts. Be it their mini albums or hit singles, fans have been loving the freshness of Le Sserafim’s discography.
Le Sserafim debuted in May 2022 with the EP, Fearless. The debut EP drew many listeners, selling over half a million album copies and ranking at number 2 on Korea’s Circle Album Chart.
Fast forward to 2024, Le Sserafim’s latest EP, Easy, sold over a million copies within one week of its release, debuting atop the Circle Album chart. So here, we are tracing Le Sserafim’s growth through their singles and EPs, which spoke volumes about the group’s future within a short span of their debut.
Antifragile
Le Sserafim’s Antifragile was the first EP released by the five-member group after Garam left. After the EP’s release, the group became a million-seller in South Korea and ranked 14th in the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 27,000 copies. The album also peaked at number one on Billboard’s US World chart.
Antifragile consisted of five tracks spanning different genres. The mini-album’s title track, which has the same name, relies on an “Afro-Latin style” with a repetitive chorus, making the song stand apart among a sea of K-pop songs.
Unforgiven
Le Sserafim released their first studio album, Unforgiven, on May 1, 2023, a year after their debut. The album consisted of thirteen banger tracks with two singles, including “Unforgiven” and “Eve, Psyche & the Bluebeard’s Wife.”
After Antifragile’s colossal popularity, expectations for Unforgiven were massive, and the girl group did not disappoint. In Unforgiven, Le Sserafim weaves a tale of female empowerment with upbeat energy and tracks like “The World Is My Oyster” and “Burn The Bridge.” The album sold over 1,571,548 copies in South Korea, peaking at the Circle Album Chart. Along with its popularity in the home country, Le Sserafim showed its global impact as the album reached number 6 on Billboard 200 and 1 on the US World Chart.
Easy
After Unforgiven, Le Sserafim released their latest EP, Easy, with a contrasting theme. The group leader, Lee Chae Won, unveiled the theme of the mini album in a press conference, sharing: “Easy is all about frankly talking about the worries and uneasiness that lies behind the confident side of Le Sserafim.” Another member, Kazuha, noted that their latest album shows behind-the-scenes stories of Le Sserafim’s bright stage persona.
“We are revealing that we are not natural born and that we’ve been working hard backstage. The album expresses Le Sserafim’s blood, sweat, and tears,” she said. The mini-album consisted of five tracks in which Le Sserafim explored their complex emotions and revealed a vulnerable side of the group.
The mini album also showed Le Sserafim’s growing popularity worldwide. It reached number one on South Korea’s Circle Album Chart with over 1,067,016 unit sales. It also sold over 34,000 copies in the United States and ranked number 8 on Billboard 200.
Perfect Night
Le Sserafim released their English single, “Perfect Night,” for Overwatch 2. The track reflected the understated charm of the group’s vocals and garnered over 79 million streams since its release on YouTube.
The non-album single made a mark on global charts, ranking at number 18 on Billboard US World, and became their number one track on the Circle Digital Chart. The song stayed on the top of the Circle Digital chart for six weeks.
With a flawless discography, Le Sserafim aims to achieve more in 2024. The girl group started the year with the release of Easy. While fans wait for their future tour announcement, the girl group had everyone talking about their performance at Coachella.
