BTS V (Kim Taehyung) is releasing his spring single “FRI(END)S” in March. After his solo debut with the album Layover, this will be Taehyung’s comeback to the music scene while serving in the military.
Following the release of several history-making K-drama OSTs, Taehyung finally made his official solo debut with Layover in September 2023. The album showed a completely different side of Taetae’s artistic persona. In Layover, he used minimalist jazzy music arrangements to bring out the hypnotic charm of his lullaby-ish tracks.
BTS V‘s Layover peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart after selling over 100,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the first week. The album crossed over 1.67 million copies in South Korea on its release day. It made a new record for the highest first-day sales by any solo K-pop artist in chart history.
After Layover’s impressive performance, the BTS icon is returning with a new single in 2024.
