K-pop producer Shinsadong Tiger aka Lee Ho-Yang has unfortunately passed away at the age of 40. The award-winning music producer has worked with several K-pop artists, including Apink and, recently, TRI.BE.
Shinsadong Tiger debuted at the age of 19. His breakthrough as a music producer came as he started working with K-pop artists like EXID, Apink and later MOMOLAND. The music producer also released his own single, “Supermarket – The Half,” featuring former K-pop act BEAST members Yoon Doo-Joon, Yong Jun-Hyung, and Lee Gi-Kwang.

As per agency TR Entertainment, Shinsadong passed away on February 23, 2024. The music label noted: “As this news came suddenly, we are currently confirming the specific details. Once we have sorted everything out, we will provide information regarding funeral arrangements and other details.”
Shinsadong was the music producer of girl group TRI.BE’s comeback album Diamond which has been postponed. The agency stated: “We regret to inform you that this week’s scheduled ‘Diamond’ comeback promotion has been canceled and postponed. Additional information regarding the schedules will be provided later. Details about fan events, such as fan signing sessions, will also be announced separately at a later time. We apologize to the fans and kindly ask for your understanding.”
Some of Shinsadong’s most famous hits include Apink’s “NoNoNo” and “Remember,” Momoland’s “BBoom BBoom,” T-ara’s “Roly-Poly” and EXID’s “Up & Down.”
The music producer won the Best Songwriter award at the 2013 Melon Music Awards for his brilliant music productions since his debut.
Speaking of his K-pop production career, the music creator once said in an interview: “When creating K-pop, the biggest inspiration or the motivation is actually people will think, this is theatrical. Of course, there are moments when much thought goes into it.”
Shinsadong also emphasized the importance of thinking about a specific group and their style while producing music for them. “I only think about it till the concept comes out.”
The cause Shinsadong Tiger’s death is unknown. As per reports, he was found dead at home. The music producer will be remembered through several evergreen hits that K-pop fans will come back to whenever the legacy of the art is discussed.
