Jeon Jungkook is back to claim his title as the top Korean soloist. The youngest member of K-pop act BTS has made a new Spotify record.
Hailed by BTS ARMY as the golden vocalist of K-pop, Jeon Jungkook has been on a record-making streak since his solo debut. The 26-year-old music legend wrapped up 2023 with an unbelievable feat as he became the first Korean solo artist to garner 4 billion streams on Spotify, only with one album, Golden.
The “Seven” singer shows no signs of stopping, even in 2024. The latest data from Spotify shows that Jungkook is in a league of his own.
Jungkook’s Spotify streams make him the top K-soloist
BTS idol Jeon Jungkook is making Spotify streaming history with his album Golden. The singer-songwriter is the only Korean soloist to rank on Spotify’s Daily Top Artists Global chart at 52. With over 4 billion streams, the hitmaker has stayed in the chart for over 241 days straight.
Along with Jungkook, his K-pop group BTS stood on the global chart at number 40 at the end of January. The K-pop trendsetters are right now on hiatus, serving in the mandatory Korean military, but their global impact is not going anywhere.
Jungkook is the ‘king of records’
The Billboard charts also recognize the “3D” singer’s worldwide popularity. Fans took to social media earlier this week to celebrate his impressive stay on the Billboard Hot 100 for over 60 cumulative weeks.
Korean media outlets highlighted another proud achievement of the ‘king of records’ whose album “Golden” ranked on Billboard 200 for 12 consecutive weeks, making him the first Korean solo singer to bag this feat.
BTS ARMY took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the glory days of Jungkook’s reign in the music industry.
One fan gushed over his impact saying: “Jungkook had the biggest song globally last year and then surpassed himself by making one of the greatest pop records ever. Standing Next To You is riveting with PERFORMANCE & VOCALS so reminiscent of the king of music, that the usher himself, ran to co-sign and feature.”

A third wrote: “Jungkook the only Korean soloist who’s able to stay stable on Hot 100 for more than 10 weeks with different songs!”
