The 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) has officially announced its nominees. The popular Korean boy band, BTS, has taken the center stage in the nominations list.
Giving more way to the K-pop industry, the award show has added four new K-pop categories — Top Global K-pop Artist, Top Global K-pop Song, Top K-pop Album, and Top K-pop Touring Artist. BTS members Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga have bagged the nominations under the aforementioned categories, alongside TXT, TWICE, BLACKPINK, and more.
BBMAs 2023: What did BTS members Jungkook, Jimin & Suga get nominated for?
The process of picking winners at the Billboard Music Awards 2023 is based on performance metrics. It means the singers/bands’ performance graph on the Billboard charts’ year-end determines the winner.
This year, the tracking period was between November 4, 2023, and October 12, 2023. In this stretch, BTS members Jungkook, Jimin, and Suga have topped the Billboard charts several times. Take a look at their nomination under the new categories at BBMAs 2023:
Nominees for Top Global K-Pop Artist are

- Jungkook featuring Latto – “Seven”
- NewJeans – “Ditto”
- NewJeans – “OMG”
And, Top K-Pop Touring Artist nominees are
- BLACKPINK
- Suga
- TWICE
Apart from the new category nominations, Jimin is also nominated under the category, Top Selling Song. His single “Like Crazy” is running against big hits including Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero”, Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town,” and Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Men North of Richmond.”
Other than BTS members, K-pop band NewJeans is also nominated outside of the new additional categories. NewJeans is one of the finalists under Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Artist category. FIFTY FIFTY has also bagged the Top Duo/Group nomination.
The Billboard Music Awards 2023 is set to commence on November 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
