The highly anticipated official trailer of Doona! is finally here, and it’s captivating, to say the least! Starring Nation’s First Love, Bae Suzy as Doona, and Yang Se-jong as Won Jun, the South Korean romance drama is set to premiere on Netflix on October 20, 2023.
The trailer promises viewers a drama filled with heart-fluttering romance, making it the perfect addition to their binge list! Director Lee Jung-hyo of Crash Landing On You gives avid K-drama fans another romantic extravaganza that they’ll cherish forever.

Won Jun’s curious about Doona
Doona! is inspired by the webtoon, The Girl Downstairs and documents the story of Won Jun, a university student, and Lee Doo Na, a retired K-pop idol. The trailer, released on October 4, captures the lead actors’ fluttering hearts as they fall for each other.
The official Netflix trailer for Doona! ends with Won Jun asking Doona, “What is Lee Doona like as a pop idol?” The curiosity of Won Jun is evident, indicating that Doona is a complex individual. That, however, doesn’t stop him from falling in love with her.
The trailer begins with Doona’s assurance that she won’t fall for Won Jun and a smirk from the latter. But this quickly shifts as they spend their time together, with Won Jun’s life thoroughly shaken up by Doona’s arrival.
With a background score that’s completely different from what viewers might have witnessed in other K-dramas, it drives them deep into feeling the characters’ emotions. Doona says, “You once said to me that you and I are from different universes,” to which Won Jun seems to reply, “And we’re sitting side by side at the same station, purely by chance.”
As Won Jun gets curious while spending time with Doona, he says, “I can’t help wanting more.” The trailer shows his feelings progress deeply, from feeling butterflies to stating, “That’s why I feel so unfair. You’re the one who came and shook me up out of nowhere.”
However, as deep and fiery as their feelings are towards one another, the trailer does indicate trouble in paradise when Doona tells Won Jun, “Don’t hate me.”
Netflix also released the official poster for the romance drama. In the poster, Won Jun looks mystified, feeling both excited and confused, as Doona approaches him with closed eyes. The text on the poster reads, “What goes on in that mind of yours?”
