Love Next Door episode 4 spoilers

The recent episode of Love Next Door begins with Choi Seung-Hyo and Bae Seok-Ryu reading the letters they wrote to their future selves. As high school students, the duo wrote letters, put them in a time capsule, and buried them in the school. Now as adults, they retrieved it to read the content. While Seung-Hyo read Seok-Ryu’s letter, he didn’t show his letter to her, given he had confessed his feelings for her in it. The two also realized that their friend Jeong Mo-Eum’s (Kim Ji-Eun) letter was missing.

Bae Seok-Ryu helps Choi Seung-Hyo with a project

The two friends reflected on their letters. While Seok-Ryu looked for a hint that would help her navigate her way forward, Seung-Hyo tried to deny that he had feelings for her in the present. The following day, Seok-Ryu accompanied Seung-Hyo to his office as a chance to get free coffee. However, it turned out to be an interesting development.

Seung-Hyo’s co-founder, Yoon Myung-Woo, informed them about Seok-Ryu’s former office, Greip, contacting them for a project. They had asked Seung-Hyo’s company and their rival for a presentation from which they would choose one to go ahead with building a new office in Seoul. Given how Seok-Ryu worked for Greip before, she informed them of the company’s standards.

Myung-Woo asked Seok-Ryu if she could help them mediate with the company. Although she initially resisted, she agreed to help her friend. In the meantime, their parents bonded with each other. At the store, Mo-Eum reunited with Kang Dan-Ho (Yoon Ji-On) as they bonded over having similar tastes while also meeting Seok-Ryu and Seung-Hyo. He expressed having seen Seok-Ryu before.

Seok-Ryu discovers something fishy about Greip

At night, Seok-Ryu, Seung-Hyo, and Mo-Eum headed home when the latter revealed that she had already read the letters inside the time capsule the same night they buried it in school. Seung-Hyo anxiously wondered if Mo-Eum knew of his feelings for Seok-Ryu. However, Mo-Eum expressed that she didn’t remember much from his letter.

The next morning, Seok-Ryu helped Seung-Hyo and Myung-Woo mediate a call with Greip. However, even after the call ended, Seok-Ryu heard the team at Greip discuss their plans, which worried her. She told Seung-Hyo how Greip was planning to move forward with the other company as Seung-Hyo’s company didn’t have a proven record. However, Seung-Hyo expressed that he would act on official orders, continue working hard, and give it his all. This led to an argument between the two.

Meanwhile, Mo-Eum bonded with a child in the park and shared this experience with Seok-Ryu. Back at the office, seeing Myung-Woo excited about the project, Seung-Hyo decided to keep the information to himself.

Bae Seok-Ryu’s past with Greip is revealed

Bse Seok-Ryu previously decided not to help Seung-Hyo anymore. However, she decided to help him anyway the next day. After some wait, they welcomed the Greip team. However, Seok-Ryu saw Chris, who joined them as the Chief Product Designer from Greip, and it reminded her of her traumatic experience with him in the past.

Although she worked at Greip, Chris and other team members used her as a pawn to finish their remaining work. While Seok-Ryu thought they believed in her, she later realized that she was being used for their benefit. This only made her uncomfortable during their meeting in Korea. After the meeting, the team at Greip liked their proposal, but Chris was adamant about going with the rival company.

Chris confronted Seok-Ryu, and the latter revealed how he knew that she had heard him talk to colleagues at Greip about her back then. When Chris proceeded to insult Seok-Ryu, Seung-Hyo grabbed him by the collar. But when Chris insulted Seung-Hyo and his company, the matter only escalated. Myung-Woo found out about Chris’ intentions, and Seok-Ryu offered to quit if it helped Seung-Hyo. When Chris threatened her to request him, she hit him for his behavior.

By the end of the episode, Seung-Hyo and Seok-Ryu bonded over her experiences at Greip and even prepared a curse lock for Chris. Seok-Ryu appreciated Seung-Hyo’s passion and hard work and revealed how it inspired her to do the same. At the same time, Myung-Woo called to inform that they had gotten the project to build Greip’s flagship store in Seoul. Myung-Woo also helped Chris get fired from the company. Upon hearing this news, Seok-Ryu hugged Seung-Hyo tight, reminding him of a similar past experience.
