Lee Bo-Young To Lead K-Drama Remake of Canadian Series Mary Kills People

The highly acclaimed South Korean model and actress Lee Bo-Young is in talks to star in the K-drama remake of a popular Canadian series, titled, Mary Kills People. As reported by Celebrity Media, the actress’ agency, J-Wide Company, has released a statement in response to the news on Friday, August 9, 2024. The statement says, “Lee Bo-young is positively considering appearing in the remake of ‘Mary Kills People’.”

The news outlet further reports that the Korean series will be helmed by the renowned director Park Joon-Woo. He has previously directed hit K-dramas such as Crash and Taxi Driver. Thus, the audience is quite excited to see how the upcoming remake project will turn out.

Lee Bo-Young, Lee Min-Ki & more cast in K-drama remake of Canadian series Mary Kills People

As mentioned earlier, actress and model Lee Bo-Young may lead the highly intriguing remake K-drama of the Canadian series, Mary Kills People. She is currently considering the offer positively as stated by her agency J-Wide Company. As per YTN, two other well-known actors are also in talks to join the cast of the upcoming K-drama remake. These actors include – Kang Ki-Young and Lee Min-Ki.

The original drama Mary Kills People is a dark comedy that chronicles the story of a doctor named Mary Harris, who works at Eden General Hospital’s emergency department. However, on the side, she runs a secret business of helping terminally ill individuals end their respective lives on their own terms. A former plastic surgeon Desmond “Des” Bennett is Mary’s partner in this. However, they soon end up in trouble when Detective Ben Wesley goes undercover to investigate them.

As reported by YTN, the Korean remake may see actress Lee Bo-Young in the role of the female protagonist. Meanwhile, actor Kang Ki-Young is in talks to play the female protagonist’s partner and Lee Min-Ki to portray the role of the police detective. Thus, viewers are in for a thrilling new Korean remake series.
