Disney Plus original K-drama Red Swan aired a brand new episode 9 on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 4 p.m. KST on the streaming platform. The series follows the journey of golfer Oh Wan-Soo (Kim Ha-Neul), who marries into the elite Hwain Group and heads the charitable NOW Foundation. She meets her bodyguard, Seo Do-Yoon (Rain), who holds secrets. Together, they expose the secrets of the conglomerate.
Episode 9 of Red Swan saw the Hwain Group’s late Chairman Kim Duo’s will cause trouble in the family. As the two prospective heirs, Kim Yong-Guk and Kim Yong-Min, battled it out for money, Chairwoman Park Mi-Ran only aimed for her legitimate son Yong-Guk to inherit the conglomerate. Meanwhile, because of Han Sang-Il’s plans, Wan-Soo suffered a significant loss.
Red Swan K-Drama episode 9 spoilers
The Red Swan K-drama episode 9 began with bodyguard Seo Do-Yoon crossing paths with security personnel Lee Jin or K1. Through her mannerisms, he suspected her of attacking Ju-Hyuk and planned on investigating her activities more. Meanwhile, a fight erupted between Yong-Min and Yong-Guk over inheriting Kim Duo’s money. Yong-Guk insisted that the money would go to Wan-Soo and NOW Foundation, just like his father wanted.
Secret about Chairman Kim Duo’s murder revealed
After his fight, Yong-Min went to Sang-Il to discuss the incident. It was then that Sang-Il asked Yong-Min about the latter killing of Chairman Kim Duo. Although Yong-Min expressed that the late Chairman fell to his death by himself, the flashback said otherwise. Yong-Min killed the Chairman with a gold bar, but Sang-Il, who arrived at the scene, asked his son to leave and took care of the matter by himself.
After Yong-Min left, Sang-Il broke down over the incident. The following day, Chairman Park Mi-Ran suggested that they ask Wan-Soo’s brother, Oh Hyun-Soo, to launder Kim Duo’s money and use it to buy more stocks for Yong-Guk. After sensing Sang-Il’s resistance to the plan, Mi-Ran expressed her disinterest in giving their son Yong-Min any inheritance money, which deeply offended Sang-Il.
Seo Do-Yoon witnesses Oh Hyun-Soo’s death
At NOW Foundation, Seo Do-Yoon informed Wan-Soo and Hyun-Soo that Yong-Min is Sang-Il’s son. Meanwhile, Hyun-Soo revealed that he would be meeting Sang-Il to hand over the ledgers. Do-Yoon requested that he be present during their interaction. Do-Yoon further laid his suspicions on K1.
Meanwhile, Yong-Guk met with his and Jang Tae-Ra’s son Jun-Hee. The father and son bonded over their relationship, but Yong-Guk revealed that he wouldn’t meet Jun-Hee until he grows up. The two shared an emotional hug. Yong-Min’s wife, on the other hand, slammed him for using his father’s money.
At night, Do-Yoon followed and recorded Hyun-Soo handing the ledger to Sang-Il. But after the latter left, K1 slit Hyun-Soo’s neck. Do-Yoon managed to hurt K1 but couldn’t catch her. He took Hyun-Soo to the hospital, but it was too late. Meanwhile, Sang-Il handed over the ledgers to the prosecution, who entered the Grand Palace with a summon for Mi-Ran.
The following day, Sang-Il arrived at the Grand Palace and visited Mi-Ran. He promised to sort out her visit at the prosecution. Meanwhile, Do-Yoon broke the news of Hyun-Soo’s death to Wan-Soo, who cried over her lost family.
Red Swan Episode 9: What happens at the end?
Wan-Soo mourned the loss of her brother Hyun-Soo. She broke down at the funeral hall alongside his wife. Yong-Guk also attended the funeral and paid his respects to Hyun-Soo and his family. Meanwhile, Mi-Ran and Sang-Il discussed the prosecution investigation at a hotel where Mi-Ran felt relieved over the issue potentially getting resolved. However, she remained unaware of Sang-Il’s plans and laughingly insulted him.
At the funeral hall before leaving, Hyun-Soo’s wife stopped them to hand over a pen drive. She recalled how Hyun-Soo had asked her to give it to Do-Yoon if anything happened to him. He asked her to inform the prosecution that the evidence that Hyun-Soo prepared was inside Sang-Il’s safe. The episode ended with Do-Yoon entering Sang-Il’s residence and putting the pen drive inside the safe.
