Escape Korean movie recently released its trailer, starring Lee Je-Hoon and Koo Kyo-Hwan in lead roles. It will also feature Sweet Home cast member Song Kang in a cameo appearance.
The upcoming movie tells the story of Kyu-Nam’s (Lee Je-Hoon) attempt to escape to South Korea. North Korean soldier Kyu-Nam dreams of living freely on the other side of the fence at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). One day, he gets caught when he stops soldier Dong-Hyuk from running away.
State Security Department Major Hyeon-Sang remembers Kyu-Nam from his childhood days. He does not punish Kyu-Nam; instead, he portrays him as a hero who caught Dong-Hyuk. However, Kyu-Nam does not want to live under the government’s rules and continues to attempt to escape. On the other hand, Hyeong-Sang will stop him at all costs because Kyu-Nam’s actions can put his position in jeopardy.
Escape cast: Korean movie features Song Kang’s cameo
In the recently released trailer of Escape, Kyu-Nam’s struggle to escape and Hyeong-Sang’s methods to stop him are the highlights. It also gives a glimpse of My Demon star Song Kang’s guest appearance. However, his character name is yet to be announced.
The upcoming Korean movie is Song Kang’s second film after Beautiful Vampire (2018). At present, the actor is serving in the military and will be discharged in 2025. During this period, his new series Sweet Home 3 will premiere in July 2024. Before leaving, the star garnered immense appreciation for his roles in K-dramas, including My Demon and Sweet Home Season 2.
Meanwhile, Song Kang is set to appear in a serious role in Escape. He will share screen space with A-List actors Lee Je-Hoon and Koo Kyo-Hwan. Other cast members include Hong Xa-Bin as Dong Hyuk, Shin Dong-Hyeon, and Esom.
Escape Korean movie will premiere in theaters on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
