Go Kyung-Pyo’s 2024 Netflix K-Drama Frankly Speaking Episode 12 Ending Explained & Spoilers: Happy or Sad Ending?

Frankly Speaking episode 12 (finale) aired on Thursday, June 6, 2024, on JTBC and Netflix. Starring Go Kyung-Pyo and Kang Han-Na, the romance comedy K-drama revolves around an announcer whose life turns upside down after accidental electrocuting. Since then, he cannot lie and thus loses his job.

In the previous episode, Song Ki-Baek’s (Go Kyung-Pyo) family met with an accident, and his mother was critically injured. On Woo-Joo (Kang Han-Na) comforted him and learned about his “lying” condition being cured. Meanwhile, top star Jung-Heon (Joo Jong-Hyuk) went to his hometown without informing his manager. The final scene showed Ki-Baek’s father’s phone with multiple missed calls from the hospital.

The Frankly Speaking finale episode begins with Ki-Baek, his father, and his brothers rushing to the hospital. They find that Ki-Baek’s mother has been shifted to a normal ward and is doing fine. Throughout episode 12, Ki-Baek and Woo-Joo experience happy moments, ending the drama on a satisfying note.

In Frankly Speaking episode 12, Ki-Baek looks relieved after his mother is out of danger. On the other hand, Woo-Joo’s mother attends the funeral of her boyfriend’s mother. When she returns home, Woo-Joo asks her when the latter’s boyfriend will ask to marry her. Woo-Joo’s mother ignores the question.

Meanwhile, Jung-Heon has returned but is still in no mood to work. He explains to his manager that he wants a break so that he can live. After losing one top star, the manager meets Ki-Baek, who has become a celebrity since his dating show. The manager offers a news host-related variety show to him. The news thrills Ki-Baek as he gets his dream job but declines the offer.

Also, Woo-Joo faces a roadblock in her career. She learns that her junior colleagues have declined good job offers for her. So, Woo-Joo fires them and asks them to take up other job proposals. All three main characters are confused about their careers in Frankly Speaking episode 12.

One day, Jung-Heon and Ki-Baek meet at the former’s house. Ki-Baek notices that his friend has cleared a lot of things from his apartment and has broken the lock of an infamous closed room. Curious, he asks Jung-Heon if they can drink inside that closed room. Ki-Baek becomes surprised to see that it is an empty room. Then, the two friends share their problems. Ki-Baek advises Jung-Heon that the latter should not let go of his dream. Jung-Heon has been planning to retire from the entertainment industry, but Ki-Baek’s advice gives him hope. He mentions that he will take a break for now but will soon make a comeback.

That night, Ki-Baek meets his girlfriend, Woo-Joo, who looks upset after a fight with her mother. She shares her feelings about her mother, saying that she wants her mother to get married and not think about her all the time. Ki-Baek comforts her, and later, Woo-Joo mends her differences with her mom. The next day, Woo-Joo receives good news related to her work. She gets her team back and begins to work on a new variety show.

Meanwhile, Ki-Baek also becomes a news host, but not for a news publication. However, he is happy with his job as he gets to tell the truth to the world.

Frankly Speaking episode 12 ending: Go Kyung-Pyo proposes to Kang Han-Na

The Frankly Speaking finale is a satisfying episode as all the characters get their happy endings. Ki-Baek’s family is back on track with all three sons chipping in on daily expenses. Jung-Heon returns to Seoul, where Woo-Joo and her team greet him. He signs the offer with Woo-Joo for her new variety show as his comeback project. Hence, the exes end up on good terms.

Towards the K-drama‘s end, Ki-Baek’s and Woo-Joo’s families attend Chae Yeon’s son’s school event. After everyone leaves, Ki-Baek and Woo-Joo share heart-fluttering moments on stage. He proposes to her, and the curtain falls as they lean to kiss each other.
