The Midnight Romance in Hagwon Episode 3: Wi Ha-Joon & Jung Ryeo-Won smartly collaborate

The latest episode 3 of The Midnight Romance in Hagwon began with Lee Joon-Ho convincing Daechi Chase director Kim Hyun-Tak to take him and Hye-Jin in the advertisement. Joon-Ho intended to use the advertisement to stress that Hye-Jin helped Joon-Ho get into a prestigious university. Joon-Ho promised to convince Hye-Jin to agree to his plan and get featured in the advertisement. However, when he pitched the idea to Hye-Jin, she disagreed.

Hye-Jin asked Joon-Ho to utilize the opportunity for himself as she wouldn’t benefit from it. However, Joon-Ho promised to devise a way for the two to mutually benefit from the plan. Meanwhile, fellow rookie instructor Nam Cheong-Mi asked counselor Kim Hyo-Im for advice on how to make a name in the competitive world.

On the other hand, Joon-Ho worked all day and finalized a plan titled Teacher-Pupil Tag Team. He urged Hye-Jin to become his partner and teach joint classes. He convinced her to target Heewon High, an autonomous private boys’ school, just as competitive as Chanyeong High, a school that Hye-Jin took classes for at Daechi Chase. Previously, she tried getting students from Heewon High but failed because of a rival.

Choi Hyeong-Seon was a teacher at Heewon High before she opened her academy, Choiseon Korean. It was natural that she kept Heewon High students occupied as an instructor. Meanwhile, Hyeong-Seon herself decided to challenge Hye-Jin by taking Changyeong High students this year. Furthermore, she also arranged for their classes on the same date and time schedule as Hye-Jin’s.

While going home together, Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho discussed strategies when the former agreed to their daily joint lectures. Before leaving, Joon-Ho revealed he was looking for his house around Hye-Jin’s neighborhood. The two grew closer as they texted each other throughout the night. At the directors meeting the following day, Hyeong-Seong announced her newly made plans.

Daechi Chase director Hyun-Tak relayed the same to Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho, urging them to delay their plans. However, Hye-Jin made a smart move. She requested Hyun-Tak to call Hyeong-Seon. Following her instructions, Hyun-Tak lied to Hyeong-Seon about Hye-Jin panicking over the new development. Using the lie, they realized that Hyeong-Seon had planned to take Hye-Jin’s students by planning the same schedule.

After the call, Hye-Jin explained her plan in detail. If the plan were successful, Hyeong-Seon would change her schedule to the next available date for Changyeong High. As expected, Hyeong-Seon changed her time, asking Heewon students to adjust their schedules. This way, Hye-Jin wouldn’t have to change her existing schedule and would also gain Heewon High students.

Hye-Jin and Hyun-Tak decided to use Joon-Ho as a fresh face and a new teacher to take free lectures. Moreover, they decided to proceed with both Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho in the advertisement. Meanwhile, Cheong-Mi discovered crucial details about school teacher Pyeon Ho-Seob. She returned to the academy to look over Changyeong High papers. Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho escaped the academy, secretly rehearsing for their joint classes.

Cheong-Mi went to counselor Hyo-Im’s house late at night, requesting the latter to arrange for her to teach Changyeong High classes. However, Hyo-Im expressed that Daechi Chase worked differently and assured Cheong-Mi that she would get classes soon. Cheong-Mi met with the counselor’s son and Joon-Ho’s best friend, Choi Sung-Gyu.

The following day, the new advertisement featuring Hye-Jin and Joon-Ho went public. This created a backlash within Daechi Chase, as no one knew it. Hye-Jin managed to convince colleagues of how they would benefit from this plan. After Hyeong-Seon discovered the advertisement, she called Hye-Jin, announcing a battle. Meanwhile, Hye-Jin also challenged her rival.
