Missing Crown Prince episodes 5 and 6 were aired on Saturday and Sunday on MBN and Viki. Starring EXO’s Suho, Hong Ye-Ji, and Kim Min-Kyu, the K-drama revolves around Crown Prince Lee Gon and his royal family members, who cannot be trusted.
In the previous episode, Lee Gon (Suho) confronted royal physician Choi Sang-Rok (Kim Joo-Heon) about his affair with Queen Dowager Min Soo-Ryun (Myung Se-Bin). When Lee Gon’s brother, Grand Prince Do Sung (Kim Min-Kyu), brought the royal guards to Sang-Rok’s house, the crown prince believed they would arrest Sang-Rok. Lee Gon was shocked when the guard arrested him, which made him think that Min-Kyu betrayed him.
In the latest episode 5, Crown Prince Lee Gon ends up in prison. He has been falsely accused of poisoning his father, King Hae Jong. The royal officials force him to accept the blame, but Lee Gon answers diplomatically.
Missing Crown Prince episode 5 spoilers: Why did Kim Min-Kyu betray Suho and arrest him for poisoning their father?
Missing Crown Prince episode 5 begins with Crown Prince Lee Gon (Suho) being shocked when Grand Prince Do Sung (Kim Min-Kyu) arrests him. The reason Do Sung betrayed his elder brother is Queen Dowager Min Soo-Ryun (Myung Se-Bin).
After King Hae Jong collapses, Do Sung learns that Soo-Ryun has poisoned him and may blame Queen Yoon, a.k.a. Do Sung’s mother. Hence, the Grand Prince betrays Crown Prince Lee Gon. When the latter understands his younger brother’s situation, he gets worried about him and his father.
Meanwhile, Queen Dowager Min Soo-Ryun sits on the throne and makes her secret lover, royal physician Sang-Rok, the palace’s inspector general and the Master of Household in the Left State Minister’s palace. He orders Queen Yoon’s father, Yoon Yi-Gyeom, to force Lee Gon into a confession. Yi-Gyeom never hesitates to use cruel methods to get rid of Lee Gon in order to make his grandson Do Sung the crown prince. For context, Do Sung and Lee Gon are stepbrothers.
On the other hand, Queen Yoon begs the unconscious King Hae Jong to wake up and save his son. She learns that her father will show no mercy to those who try to ruin his plan. Interestingly, Queen Dowager Soo-Ryun, too, showcases her good side, as she feels heartbroken seeing Lee Gon’s situation. But Sang-Rok asks her to calm down.
The episode ends with Sang-Rok and Yoon Yi-Gyeom forcing Lee Gon to accept the false accusation.
Missing Crown Prince episode 6 recap & spoiler: Suho escapes the prison
Missing Crown Prince episode 6 begins with Crown Prince Lee Gon (Suho) not accepting the false accusation. He says that he was out of the palace when the king was poisoned. However, he worries that his action may harm the queen and the king.
Meanwhile, Do Sung manages to rescue Lee Gon from the prison. He helps his elder brother escape at night. The palace panics after learning that Lee Gon has run away. While the officials suspect Do Sung’s involvement, the grand prince acts innocent. Things get complicated when Sang-Rok plays with his mind. The royal physician tells Do Sung that his daughter, Choi Myung-Yoon (Hong Ye-Ji), is supposed to marry the crown prince. So, if he becomes the crown prince instead of Lee Gon, they can get married. For context, Do Sung is in love with Myung-Yoon.
Meanwhile, Myung-Yoon, who doesn’t know that Lee Gon is the crown prince, searches for him. Towards the end of the episode, Lee Gon’s friend takes Myung-Yoon’s maid as a hostage, thinking she is the daughter of Sang-Rok. He tells the crown prince that they will use her to exit the town. The episode ends with Lee Gon about to set the maid free when he sees Myung-Yoon. He assumes the latter is the real maid, leaving the episode on a cliffhanger.
